If you are thinking where you would go next time, look at Europe, or rather — to the fabulous palaces and residences, many of which operate now. Lovers of romantic (or even mystical) adventures will surely appreciate our selection of ancient European castles that really deserve attention. So, for example, visiting one of the residences is inspired in the time of Peter Tchaikovsky on the creation of the work “Swan lake”, and other palaces and even served as a film set for the filming of cult films.
Chambord castle, France (XVI century)
Chambord (FR. Château de Chambord) — perhaps one of the most recognizable castles in France, which is considered an architectural masterpiece of the Renaissance. It was built by order of Francis I, who dreams of spending more time near his beloved lady — Countess Turi, who lives nearby. According to numerous historical studies, Leonardo da Vinci himself took part in the design of this masterpiece, so the building, which has 426 rooms, 77 stairs, 282 fireplaces and 800 decorated capitals, is really worthy of attention. Enjoy the castle, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, at any time of the year, but in the autumn and winter it looks especially impressive. About 13 years ago, the castle, on the second floor of which is now a branch of the Museum of hunting and nature, has acquired the status of the state socio-commercial enterprise.

Alcázar castle, Spain (IX century)
During the years of its existence, the residence of the Spanish kings alcázar (Spanish Alcázar), located right on a rock in the historical part of the city of Segovia, managed to visit not only the Royal castle, but also the fortress, prison and even the artillery Academy. Back in 1953, the Alcazar, which was considered during the middle Ages the favorite residence of the kings of Castile, became a Museum where furniture, interiors, a collection of weapons and portraits of Spanish kings. Now it is one of the most visited places in Spain, and every tourist considers it his duty to bypass all 11 halls in the castle and climb the highest tower — the tower of Juan II.

Residence of Alhambra, Spain (XIII century)
This castle, which is a whole complex, was built about two centuries — from 1230 to 1492, during the reign of the dynasty of Narsis. The residence essentially consists of two picturesque courtyards connected by a passage and surrounded by palaces, churches, gardens and residential buildings. You can wander around the complex for a long time, which is considered a real miracle of the world, and look at the decorative elements, paintings, architectural delights and an abundance of Muslim motifs, harmoniously blended into the overall atmosphere of the grandiose building. The lady checked in the Luggage: how to pack a suitcase, not to forget anything

If “shove the first thing that came to hand, and then at the resort to worry about the lack of the most important” – this is about you, then you will surely come in handy our life hacking. Passion.ru talked to experienced travelers and found out how to take a perfectly prepared suitcase (without overweight and with everything you need).
A revision of things
So, you have decided on the direction and the option of rest, on this basis you should make your multifunctional wardrobe. In other words, if you are waiting for a beach holiday in front of you, it is one story, and if an entertaining and informative trip with everyday excursions and long walks, then this is a completely different topic. And wardrobe in this case will be different from the first option. Simply some forget about it and take, in their opinion, universal things which at best are put on only once, and even do not get at all from a suitcase.

To optimize time and effort, first make a detailed list of everything you need, in your opinion, and cross out of it what you can safely do on the trip. You can put things that you initially included in your list, on the bed or on the floor, choose from this variety what you go on the road (usually, for this choose the most “heavy” things that take up a lot of space in the suitcase), then try to make sets for each day, combining the main items of your wardrobe. Conventionally, if your shirt fits strictly to only one skirt or pants, it is better to leave home and take with you the one that will look perfect with any “bottom”. Then determine what you will take in hand Luggage (money, documents, gadgets, charging and so on), and what you can leave in the suitcase.

Please read the baggage rules in advance, so that later it would not be a surprise for you that some items could not be taken with you at all, or should be issued in a certain way. It is very sad, for example, tourists look at the reception when there is not much time left before the flight, and they have to shift things from hand Luggage to a suitcase, because they are not included in the list of things that can be taken on Board. Or Vice versa, during the preponderance just as tourists are trying to free up space in the suitcase, shifting some things in a bag or backpack. And in fact, and in another case, it takes a lot of time and effort not only from the travelers themselves, but also from airport workers. Continue reading

Where to stay
The latest trend among tourists is the choice of accommodation is intimate and cosy hotels. If you also want something new and unusual, then boutique hotels are the best option. They are usually located in the buildings of old mansions with a rich history. Each room is a unique design project. One of these hotels, which we found in St. Petersburg – DOM BOUTIQUE HOTEL on Gangutskaya street, a few minutes from the Summer Palace of Peter I. It is located in a former Apartment building of the XIX century. Dom BOUTIQUE HOTEL received its first guests in 2016, and despite the fact that the building was renovated, every corner of it seems imbued with history.

The design of the hotel, as well as rooms, where each piece of furniture was created by a special sketch, was developed by London professionals. In the lobby of the hotel guests pass on the real marble floor, and in rooms — on a parquet from natural breeds of a tree. Each room has its own highlight: a bright yellow wardrobe, or red chairs, or elegant black tiles in the bathroom. Someone may think that the decor of the hotel and rooms is quite defiant and too bright, but undoubtedly it is impressive. Continue reading
