Why is it so important to travel alone sometimes

Of course, explore new places more interesting with someone, but what to do if suddenly your girlfriend or loved one can not keep you company. To take the tickets? Oh, no! We tell you why you can and even need to go on a journey in splendid isolation and what minimum safety rules should be observed.
1. No need to coordinate your plans with someone else

Imagine how great it is to fall where you wanted to go, without coordinating their actions with another person and without thinking through a joint route to all was comfortable. You can trust your intuition and listen to your desires. In addition, this is a great opportunity to catch last minute tours or promotions, without explaining why now you need to go to this country or city, and not somewhere else.

2. Tickets will be much cheaper If, say, it was a one-time action and there was only one ticket, you can safely buy it, and not sigh in disappointment, because your companion suddenly did not have enough space in the cabin.

3. Have time to be alone with yourself

You can devote all your time to yourself, isn’t that wonderful? For example, sleep as much as you want, and not to get up on the first call and trudge to the next historically significant places. Or, on the contrary, you can get up at the crack of dawn and quietly explore the area until annoying tourists came running. Meditation, favorite books, yoga, parties or Hiking while you have the strength – you plan your day and do not adapt to other people.

4. Don’t share your room with anyone else

One of the main advantages of “lonely” rest – you can find a new company, and then, if you want privacy, just go to your room, and not to adapt to someone just because you are with this person to share a room until the end of the holiday. Besides, if, say, new acquaintances bored you, you can always meet someone else. When you travel together, you can’t take that liberty.

5. Learn self-reliance and tolerance

First, it is a good opportunity to test yourself and find out whether you can really cope with everything that awaits you in the journey (to solve the issue with tickets, hotel, organize your own original route, etc.). And secondly, it should be remembered that everywhere people are different, with their traditions, views and way of life, so you need to respect someone else’s opinion and learn to be tolerant.

6. Opportunity to learn another language

Each trip is a great language practice or an opportunity to learn at least basic words to learn how to communicate with the local population. There are people, for example, who, thanks to this method, learned about seven languages (three perfectly and four fluently), and now they are not afraid of the need to Express themselves in any country.

7. Try yourself as a volunteer

And why, in fact, not? The ability to help people is perhaps one of the most valuable qualities of modern man. In tourism, it has even become one of the most popular destinations. People specially go to countries where they need help, and together with like-minded people support the local population, restore the city after natural anomalies or engaged in other socially useful work.

A few rules that you should know before you go on a journey in the format of “solo»:

think about the route in advance, make and save copies of tickets, passports and insurance, print the address of the hotel (or hostel), find out how best to get to your destination (transfer methods), prepare small bills.

credit cards, cash and documents are better to keep in different places, then, if suddenly you get in the way of a fraudster, there is a chance to save at least something.

be sure to leave the name of the hotel and flight numbers to friends or family. And it will be better to periodically get in touch by any convenient means. So they’ll know you’re all right. And if you do not show up at a pre-arranged time, will raise all ears.

find out in advance if someone you know lives in the city where you are going. Then they will be happy to arrange a tour or invite you to dinner. You, in turn, will be able to tell a little more about your country and teach something useful.

do not avoid casual Dating. Sometimes they, by the way, are the most useful and help out, if suddenly you had a trouble in an unfamiliar city. So do not hesitate and feel free to start a conversation with the bartender, waitresses, neighbors in turn in the fitting room.

never forget common sense. Then your vacation will be exactly as you imagined it.
